Team members play an essential role in helping individuals build fulfilling, self-directed lives within their communities.

As a Direct Support Staff member at CMA, daily, hands-on support is provided to help the people served feel safe, healthy, and empowered. This work includes assisting with personal care and daily routines, supporting participation in community activities, encouraging skill development, and promoting independence in ways that respect each individual’s goals and preferences.
A strong emphasis is placed on building trusting, respectful relationships so every individual feels valued, heard, and included. Whether supporting someone in learning a new life skill, navigating a social setting, or achieving a personal milestone, the focus remains on dignity, choice, and opportunity.

By self-directing their services, program participants can engage in daily activities of their choosing with supports from staffers that they have identified and intentionally hired. Supporting a self-directing person can be incredibly fulfilling as your primary goal is to assist them to live their best lives. Shifts can range in task and location from practical ADL skills at home, to surf lessons at summer camp, to apply for work out in the world.

Supported Employment assists individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive, integrated employment within the community. Staff provide individualized job development, interview preparation, workplace support, and ongoing coaching to promote long-term success and job retention. Team members work closely with employers, participants, and families to ensure supports are tailored and responsive. Joining the Supported Employment team offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping individuals achieve independence, confidence, and meaningful careers.

Staff play a key role in mentoring participants, facilitating meaningful learning opportunities, and helping individuals discover their strengths and interests. Joining the pre-vocational team means working in a dynamic, creative environment where education, community connection, and individualized growth are at the center of the work.

The Administration Office is the operational backbone of Community Mainstreaming Associates, providing the infrastructure that allows our direct service teams to deliver high-quality, person-centered supports every day. While much of this work happens behind the scenes, it is essential to the success and sustainability of our programs.
Work in the Administration Office strengthens the foundation that makes CMA’s mission possible.
