Maria Massei-Rosato is a former Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a professor at Columbia University, and a creative nonfiction writer. At the NY Fed she built the first data office responsible for delivering enterprise products, capabilities, and services to enable economists, examiners, and analysts. She also led the central bankers
international committee on data strategy. In addition, Maria introduced design thinking to address high-ambiguity challenges, pioneered an immersive innovation lab for cross-functional teams, and served as an executive advisor to the NY Fed’s disability affinity network.
As an educator, Maria currently teaches the Technology Management Capstone at Columbia University. She has also developed and teaches storytelling with data for the Executive MBA program at the Luiss Business School in Milan and Rome. She developed and taught the class at Parsons School of Design and teaches a one-week storytelling class in Amsterdam for students studying for their master’s in Digital Entertainment Business.
Maria was named to City & State Magazine‘s 2024 list of the top 50 women in New York for exemplary leadership. She is passionate about helping those with intellectual or developmental disabilities and is thrilled to be working with the Board of Directors for Community Mainstreaming (CMA) where people are defined by what they can do – not by what they can’t.
